The guards carry you by the arms up stairs, through halls, and finallying
you are facing two large, polished and shiny double wood doors. The guards put you down. Two other
guards standing at the doors open them, and you get a glimpse at the throne room.
A red carpet leads up to the throne, which is at least 70 feet away. The room
is filled with what look like scholars, scribes, and other important men. You wonder
how they got there, in a castle way up in the mountains.
"Move!" you hear from one of the guards behind you, and you are shoved to start walking.
You approach the throne. The throne itself is sitting high upon a block of marble. There are
four stairs leading up to it. The king, you notice, is a very short man, and fat. His beard is
very short, and his crown is perched at a jawnty angle upon his head.
"So this is the spy!" he greets you when you arrive at the stairs. You roll our eyes.
"Is there anything I can say that won't resolve in more jail time, or my execution?" you ask.
The King wispers to the man standing beside him, more than likely his advisor. "I don't think so. The charge of spying
is a pretty big offense."
"But I'm not a spy!!!" you reply before you could catch yourself.
The King raises an eyebrow. "You know that lying to the King results in be-headedment."
Beheadedment? Is there such a word? Deciding not to question the King's vocabulary, you say "Really, I'm not lying!"
The King's face begins to flush in anger. "Then why were you at my castle gate?"
You sigh. How are you going to convince him? "I...I was being adventurous and decided to climb the mountain. I was following a path, when
all of a sudden your gate guard started yelling at me and threatening me with his weapon."
The King sat back into his throne. "That doesn't really sound right to me."
What to say now?
"It's absolutely true, sire. How may I prove it?"(Still try to tell the truth)
"Well, no, that's not what happened...."(Make up a story and hope he buys it)
